Many tourists holidaying in Corsica opt for a self-catering holiday, staying either in a complex of apartments (known as a résidence) often with a shared pool, a converted apartment in an old house usually offering plenty of Corsican character or a villa or house with its own swimming pool. |

Typically villas and private houses are more expensive and, unsurprisingly, the closer you are to the coast or if you have a sea view the higher the price. Rental prices tend to be highest around Porto-Vecchio in the south east corner of the island, notably Cala Rossa, Domaine de la Punta, Santa Giulia.
