Language in Corsica
The official language in Corsica is French, however there is a Corsican language, known as Corsu, that is taught in schools and spoken on a daily basis by many islanders. As Corsica is so close to Italy and France, it is a wonderful mélange of the south of France/Côte d'Azur and Tuscany but also retains a remarkable uniqueness and identity.Climate and weather in Corsica
Corsica usually has pleasant temperatures throughout the year, although the main period for holidaymakers from the UK is April to October, with June, July & August being the hottest months. Ajaccio, on the south-west coast is the sunniest spot, with some 2740 hours of sunshine annually. Temperatures during the summer are often in excess of 30 degrees with 12 hours of sunshine per day. In June and September mid-high 20's are common, although days can be windier and evenings cooler. April and October can be changeable with some wetter days, but when dry and sunny, daytimes can be lovely at around 20 degrees, perfect for walking in the mountains and still warm enough to laze on a beachTweet
